Bring us your jack-o-lanterns and we'll turn them into compost! Keep your holiday celebrations out of the landfill! We're accepting pumpkins at no cost as our way of wishing the community a happy holiday season.
We're collecting from November 10 to December 3, so be sure to bring us your pumpkins soon!
Drop your pumpkins at one of two locations during their business hours:
The Alaska Bowl Company - Drop pumpkins in the white shed on the west side of the parking lot.
Open hours: Mon-Fri 9:00 am to 7:00 pm
Sat-Sun 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Closed Thanksgiving Day
Roaming Root Cellar - Bring pumpkins inside the store.
Open hours: Mon-Fri 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
Sat-Sun 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Closed Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday
Existing residential customers can leave pumpkins out by their buckets on collection day and we'll take care of the hauling.

Hosting a large group holiday event? Let us take care of the food waste. Live up to that New Years resolution of being more sustainable. We are offering special event collections during this holiday season! Thanksgiving dinner has never been so sustainable!
Collection Services: ($8/1 bucket or $10/2 buckets)
Fill out the form below to let us know when your event is and we will drop your bucket(s) off the Wednesday before during our normal collection window. We will collect the full buckets after the event is complete! No need to even leave your house!
Drop-Off: ($5/bucket)
Once your order is confirmed and your invoice is paid, you'll stop by our hub at the Great Alaskan Bowl Company on Airport Way and take some empty buckets. Once full, you'll return the buckets at your convenience. It's as easy as (pumpkin) pie!

Need a gift a day for your most sustainable friend? Look no further! We are offering Fairbanks Compost Collective gift certificates redeemable for curbside food waste collection service. Our curbside collection costs $8/collection, but check out the savings we offer for gift card purchases!
$20 Gift Card (3 Bi-Weekly Collections, 1.5 months of service)
$36 Gift Card (5 Bi-Weekly Collections, 2.5 months of service)
$50 Gift Card (7 Bi-Weekly Collections, 3.5 months of service)
Gift cards may also be redeemed for weekly collections valued at the same price by the recipient.
